Interior Designer
The Role:
Currently we are seeking a full time Interior Designer to become part of our team.
The Make Haus is a one-of-a-kind multidisciplinary creative studio. We’re visionaries who set the standard in original concept creation. Our innate ability to conceive new and fresh ideas is what sets us apart. We don’t outsource ideation, instead offering a complete creative journey from intention to execution. We’re highly skilled in making meaningful and memorable objects, spaces and moments.
We are a boutique creative studio based in Sydney, working closely with individuals and businesses to create unseen, timeless and custom designs that are both beautiful and functional.
As a small team of four we work together from our Brookvale studio. However this is options to work remotely at times. Some of the many tasks include:
- This person should be able to collaborate seamlessly with the designers, architects, contractors, fabricators, artisans, and developers on multiple projects.
- Responsible for supporting the process on material sourcing and specification, custom furniture design, visual research, mood board creation, furniture sourcing, graphic and visual presentations, while adhering to fast-paced project timelines.
- General support to Director to ensure everything is gliding above average and well managed. Noting there may be integration of other projects pending the scheduling of their works.
- Deploy successful creative documents and own implementation from ideation to execution
- Creating documentation and or/ specification sheets for concept and fabrication
- Client management and liaison
- Interior finish selections and schedules
- Client furniture presentations and schedules
- Responding to new design leads
- General administration, emails, google drive, use of CRM applications for work flow.
- Placing and managing orders, managing time lines and budgets.
- Confident to communicate and share ideas for all projects, challenging co workers and clients on thoughtful design process.
- Attending industry events and maintaining industry knowledge + developing relationships with brand reps to learn about all various products.
Essential Requirements:
+ At least 3 years plus relevant industry experience – please note this is not a graduate position, experience to ‘hit the ground running’ is required
- Sydney based, our studio is on the Northern Beaches.
- Critical thinking, decision-making and problem-solving skills
- Must have a strong ability for both Styling and Design
- Degree or Diploma in Interior Design / Decoration desirable!
- Drivers License and own car
- Creative with an innate sense of style that will complement Make Haus brand.
- A friendly, warm approach, energised and motivated.
- Detail orientated, Highly organised and efficient
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong ability to work to tight deadlines
- The ability to work autonomously and also as part of a small team
Desirable Additional Requirements:
+ Able to create 3D concepts in Sketch up
+ Able to create Interior Documentation in Autocad, Sketch up / Layout.
